What is your vision for connectivity
in Maine?

Maine Connectivity Authority is developing a statewide strategy for what comes next—and we need your voice to help get it right.

Since 2021,

Maine has made historic progress expanding access to high-speed internet—connecting homes, businesses, and communities across the state.

Access was the breakthrough. What matters now is what it makes possible in people’s lives. The next chapter is about what connectivity makes possible for people, for communities, and for the systems we rely on every day:

  • stronger local economies

  • better access to education, health care, and essential services

  • thriving rural communities, and

  • systems that work for the people who depend on them

This strategic planning process is about defining what Maine needs next, and how we get there together. It is how we shape Connectivity 2030: a future where access to the internet translates into real, lasting opportunity for people across Maine.

What we're working toward

By 2030, connectivity in Maine must do more than reach people—it must work for them.

MCA’s charge is to ensure that everyone in Maine can fully benefit from connectivity: economically, socially, and civically. Getting there requires a clear, actionable statewide strategy to guide our work through 2030. One that:

  • builds on Maine’s momentum to reach every community

  • expands digital opportunity beyond infrastructure

  • aligns partners across sectors to drive real outcomes

  • centers the lived experiences of Maine people, especially those facing the greatest barriers

How to participate

This plan will be shaped by the people and communities it is meant to serve. There are four ways to get involved:
